 The Book in a Nutshell

The author, a university professor and martial arts practitioner, looks at Buddhism and the Japanese Samurai,  exploring a connection between the two.

This book gives a basic overview of the history, philosophy and practice of Zen.

 In Summary

The author clearly knows a lot about martial arts (he holds a 4th Dan in Karate and has trained in Japan) and his  knowledge of the subject shows throughout this book.

This is a clever book taking a very interesting approach looking at topics such as Buddhism, Zen and the Samurai.

For the hardcore martial artists amongst you, this book offers a route for you to reconnect with the authentic spiritual  discipline of martial arts. For the not so hardcore, this is an interesting take on martial arts that you will enjoy reading.
